Nigerian man takes on challenge to be buried alive for 24 hours
8 mai, par UnknownA Nigerian man who identifies as Young C has embarked on a challenge to be buried alive in a coffin for 24 hours.
He made this known in a series of posts on his Instagram page on Wednesday, stating that the stunt was genuine and not a hoax.
He announced his intention to broadcast live footage from the coffin at night.
Sharing a video on his Instagram account on Wednesday, he said, “I am going to be spending the next 24 hours buried in this casket. Guys, this is real, not fake.
“And the most amazing part is that I am going to go live by night.”
In a subsequent update, Young C revealed that he had been buried for over 8 hours and was experiencing physical discomfort, including excessive sweating.
In an update on Wednesday evening, he said in part, “Guys, I have been buried alive for over 8 hours now. For those of you who saw my first video, I have been down here. As you can see, my camera is still rolling, and I have my light down there, I am sweating, guys.”
This feat is reminiscent of a similar challenge undertaken by the American YouTube personality, MrBeast (Jimmy Donaldson).
Two years ago, MrBeast buried himself alive for 50 hours to raise awareness about deforestation.
Recently, he attempted to break his own record by spending seven consecutive days buried in a coffin.
MrBeast’s specially designed coffin was equipped with provisions for food and water, as well as cameras to monitor his condition.
Despite facing physical and mental challenges, including back pain and emotional distress, MrBeast successfully completed the seven-day challenge and was finally exhumed.
He cautioned viewers against attempting similar stunts, emphasizing the potential dangers involved.

‘Anarchy must be averted’ — Edwin Clark writes Egbetokun over Rivers political crisis
8 mai, par Unknown
Edwin Clark, the convener of the Pan Niger Delta Forum (PANDEF), has asked Kayode Egbetokun, the inspector-general of police (IGP), to ensure there is no breakdown of law and order in Rivers state. In a letter to the IGP on Tuesday, Clark warned that the political crisis in Rivers may have negative consequences for the whole of the Niger Delta region if allowed to escalate.
In recent months, members of the Rivers house of assembly and Siminalayi Fubara, governor of the state, have been at loggerheads.
The friction was the result of a power tussle between Fubara and his successor, Nyesom Wike, who is now the minister of the federal capital territory (FCT).
The crisis climaxed after 27 out of 32 lawmakers in the house defected from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC).
In October 2023, the assembly commenced impeachment proceedings against the governor.
The impeachment notice was later withdrawn in December 2023.
On several occasions, the assembly has overridden the decision of Fubara not to sign certain bills passed by the lawmakers led by Martin Amaewhule, the speaker.
‘WE MUST AVERT ANARCHY’
In the letter, Clark alerted the IGP to the purported move by the lawmakers to impeach the governor.
“The recent unprovoked announcement by the Speaker and 26 former members of the Rivers state house of assembly might cause a breakdown of law and order in Rivers State, and the consequences of such a crisis will not only affect Rivers State politically, socially, and economically but will also affect the Niger Delta and Nigeria at large,” the letter reads.
“We have enough of such crises of all dimensions in nearly all parts of this country already, and we, therefore, prevent any more of such crises.
“I had earlier advised and appealed to our President, His Excellency Bola Ahmed Tinubu, to call his Minister, Nyesom Wike, to order to avoid this looming crisis and that the interest of the entire country should supersede the interest of an individual or a small group of people; otherwise, the consequences will be disastrous.
“It is in this spirit that I am addressing this letter to you as the Inspector General of Police, who is in charge of the peace and stability of this country.
“You are, therefore, fully aware of the dangerous, precarious situation we are facing today in this country, whereby the people are no longer safe to move around or to go to their farms to feed themselves.
“I seriously warn that if the sanctity of the country’s constitution is not obeyed by its citizens, the consequences that will follow will be anarchy.”
The PANDEF convener claimed that 27 lawmakers had “automatically forfeited their seats” when they changed their party allegiance and should have no say in the house’s decision.
However, the case determining the legitimacy of the members of the Rivers assembly who defected from the PDP to the APC is still pending in court.

Billionaire, Arthur Eze, has urged Nigerians to support President Bola Tinubu while praising his inclusive approach to governance. He made the remarks in a video widely shared on social media, which showed him donating N20m to a church.
Eze said, “Tinubu has no boundary. If you go to Abuja, you will see Wike, an Igbo man as a minister. Umahi is Igbo man, as minister. No boundaries. All the types of people we want.
“So this Nigeria, after eight years, it will change. It has started changing. Now, I beg everybody to support him before we die.”

“The President has been fair in his appointments to the three major regions; the East, West, and North. Nigerians should support the President as he continues his transformational agenda,” Eze said.

Ohanaeze President Iwuanyanwu alleges death threat, reveals those responsible
8 mai, par Fashola MC POSCABAThe President General of Ohanaeze Ndigbo, Chief Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu, has alleged threat to his life and an attempt to burn down his residence.
Iwuanyanwu said some Igbos, whom he described as anti-Igbo, have orchestrated plans to either kill him or burn his house over his leadership of Ndigbo.
He spoke while addressing a briefing at the secretariat of Ohanaeze Ndigbo in Enugu on Wednesday evening.
The Ohanaeze president linked those threatening his life to the death of his predecessor, Prof. George Obiozor.
He said: “This has become very dangerous. These people have carried this too far. Some time ago, I got some information that some people were coming to burn my house; that people said they were hired to come and burn my house.
“Some people also said they were hired to come and kill me; all sorts of stories like that. And I started asking myself: what is it that I have done that would warrant that my house should be burned, that I should be killed?
“I told those people that they shouldn’t worry. Fortunately, one of them said that the person they hired said that I trained his brother in the university. You know I had a scholarship scheme that trained over 5, 000 young people in the university. So he said his brother was trained by me and so he cannot burn my house.
“I feel sad that I should be confronted by some of these types of threats just because I want to serve my people.”
He said the group traced Obiozor to his village to kill him and when they failed to get him, they set his house on fire.
“Obiozor died as a result of that attack on his country home because as a diplomat, all his books, awards and recognition were totally burnt and these were things he cherished so much.
“In the case of Nnia Nwodo, as President General of Ohanaeze Ndigbo, they trailed him to his village in Ukehe, Enugu State and threw bomb into his house,” he said.
